What Changed from Suno V5 to Suno V6
V5 Has Been Retired and Replaced by V6
Suno released its V6 models on September 9, 2026 and said that "as v6 rolls out, we will retire our previous models and move Suno entirely onto the v6 generation." On AIMusic.so, new songs are made with the V6 family, and V5 can no longer be selected.
What Suno Says Improved
Suno describes the V6 models as "faster, more expressive and higher quality" and says V6 "understands more of the language and building blocks musicians use, from vocals, instrumentation and structure to mood, references and the overall feel of a song." In practice that means a detailed style prompt, such as "slow soul ballad, warm female vocal, Rhodes piano", has more to work with.
Three Models Instead of One
Suno splits V6 into three models. In Suno's words, V6 is the flagship that is "reliable, precise and consistently delivers polished music", V6 Wild is "built for exploration" and "less predictable and more varied", and V6 mini is "a faster, more efficient version available to everyone."
Which V6 Model Your Plan Includes
On AIMusic.so, V6 mini is available on every plan, including Free. V6 comes with the paid plans, and V6 Wild is included with Ultra. Every song costs the same 5 credits, whichever model you use.

What Stays the Same
You still start from a short description or your own lyrics, set a style, and choose whether the song has vocals or is an instrumental. Songs you make on a paid plan can still be used commercially, and paid plans can still extend a song or add cover art.
