Introduction to Pedal Steel Guitar
The pedal steel guitar is a type of electric guitar that features pedals and knee levers used to adjust the pitch of certain strings, creating a distinctive sound. Originating in the early 20th century, it evolved from the Hawaiian steel guitar. The instrument became popular in the 1950s, especially in country music, thanks to artists like Buddy Emmons and Jimmy Day, who were pivotal in its development and incorporation into mainstream music.
